Rock ‘n Roll Jukebox (2 Feet) Starved Rock, Oglesby, IL Join Sting Ray Anthony with his unparalleled Tribute to Ritchie Valens and other Rock ‘n Rollers of the 50’s. His high energy show takes 50’s music to another level. Sting Ray has delighted audiences, bringing them to their feet dancing and singing the greatest Oldies ever written as he “rocks the house”. You will enjoy a lunch buffet that includes salad, coleslaw, rolls, vegetable, mashed potatoes and gravy, fried chicken and a 2nd entree to be determined. Dessert also included. The Marvelous Wonderettes (1 Foot) Oil Lamp Theatre, Glenview, IL A jukebox musical comedy featuring pop songs from the 50s & 60s — This smash Off-Broadway hit takes you to the 1958 Springfield High School prom, where we meet Betty Jean, Cindy Lou, Missy, and Suzy: four girls with hopes and dreams as big as their crinoline skirts! As we learn about their lives and loves, the girls serenade us with classic ‘50s hits including “Lollipop,” “Dream Lover,” “Stupid Cupid,” and “Lipstick on Your Collar.” In Act II, the Wonderettes reunite to take the stage and perform at their ten-year reunion. We learn about the highs and lows the girls have experienced in the past decade and are charmed to find that no matter what life throws their way, they will conquer it together. Featuring over 30 classic ’50s and ’60s hits, The Marvelous Wonderettes will keep you smiling in this must-take musical trip down memory lane! Lunch at a local restaurant after the show. The Church Basement Ladies in The Last Potluck Supper (2 Feet) Fireside Theatre, Ft. Atkins, WI It is 1979, the day of the church’s Centennial Celebration, and past parishioners have gathered to share hotdish, bars, and stories from the last 100 years. As the women work in the kitchen, shared memories burst into life through a series of flashbacks. Travel back to 1897 and meet Vivian’s grandmother; see Karin as a newlywed cautiously navigating the politics of the kitchen; and be there in 1944 when Mavis first barreled her way through the door. The Centennial Celebration is bittersweet. Times are touch in this small farm community, and hard decisions will have to be made. Select one entrée from a choice of Braised pork belly, supreme cut chicken breast, Thai grilled shrimp or vegetarian Cacciatore. Fee includes lunch, ticket and motor coach transportation. Learn about the common pitfalls of planting a pollinator garden and how to use indigenous plants to lure winged beauty. Sample garden palates and simple design techniques will be covered to inspire your green thumb. Program run by Sara Strother, a certified Cook County Master Naturalist and the owner of Planted Green LLC. CAC
