Mary Q. Alberding Park, located at the corner of Northwest Highway and Lundergan Avenue, was named in 1977 in honor of the former park board president and two-term park board member in the 1960s. Mary Quaite Alberding was instrumental in bringing arts and crafts programs to the Park Ridge Park District. She began youth programs in Park Ridge in the 1940s and Park District programs for seniors in the late 1950s.
