Programs

Hop on over to the Centennial Fitness Center for our Egg Dip. Plastic eggs are floating in the pool for kids to collect. We are dividing the dips into age groups. Please bring a waterproof container for your child to collect their eggs. Open swim is available once all the eggs are collected (open swim included in fee). If your child can't swim, a parent or guardian must get in the pool to help.

This program takes the time to teach students the knowledge of rescue techniques, pool procedures, CPR, and First Aid. The skills learned in the Junior Lifeguard Program will stick with students and help them down the line in not just lifeguarding, but real-life scenarios. We strive to develop leadership skills in our junior lifeguards, which is why they receive hands-on experience shadowing a real lifeguard. It is our hope that students transition into lifeguards when they turn 15 years old and practice these skills even more. At the end of the program, the junior lifeguards get to participate in the Illinois Park and Recreation Association Lifeguard games.

Past & potential Riptides are invited to participate in Riptides Pre-Season. Swimmers will be able to meet our coaches before the season starts, refresh & review their skills, and get an idea of what typical practices will be like this Summer. As a prerequisite, swimmers must be able to swim at least 25 yards without assistance. Googles are required, and swim caps are highly encouraged. Swimmers participating in this program will be eligible for Riptides pre-registration.

This program is designed to introduce the sport of water polo to children 3-12 years old. Participants must be capable of swimming one length of the pool unassisted and be comfortable in the deep end to participate. Coaches are former division 1 water polo players who are also parents of young kids.

Beyond the Bell provides a safe environment in a recreational setting for the student to develop in social skills, problem solving, and teamwork. Beyond the Bell helps students grow in character, while learning respect, fairness, and responsibility. Our experienced staff keeps things interesting by planning fun daily activities that may include, but are not limited to, art projects, board games, indoor/outdoor sports, large group games, gym time, and assistance in homework. Beyond the Bell Hours: Before Care: Monday - Friday, 7:00am-9:00am After Care: Monday/Tuesday/Thursday/Friday, 3:30pm-6:00pm Wednesday 2:40pm-6:00pm
