This class is for beginner and intermediate skaters. Participants should bring something to drink, snack, skateboard, & helmet. Knee, elbow, & wrist guards strongly encouraged. Skaters will learn how to start, stop, drop in, ollies, basic ramp riding, balance, & tricks. Please email sk8lessonschicago@gmail.com for correct skateboard sizing before purchasing.

Awesome August includes water activities, jumbo lawn games, free play, crafts, and active sports. Campers need to bring a water bottle, swimsuit, sunscreen, and towel daily. Sponsored by Healthy Pi, Inc, learn to navigate your way via RTA/CTA buses, the Metra, and Chicago’s ‘L’ trains, using the Ventra App. Participants will see many of Park Ridge & Chicago’s most well-known attractions and discover some of its hidden treasures through public transportation. Some field trips may be located in the suburbs, but participants will still use public transportation. Fee includes all public transportation, an experienced Teen Coach, and admission to all sites and activities. Campers must be dressed for the weather, bring a swimsuit & towel, a nut-free lunch and beverage daily. *Please note: due to the nature of the class and the need to purchase travel & admission tickets, no refunds will be issued within 10 days prior to the start of camp.

The Counselor in Training program provides a unique opportunity to develop skills necessary for working with children in a hands-on environment. C.I.T.'s are involved in daily activities assisting camp staff with camp projects, activities, and lesson plans. C.I.T.'s must be 13 years of age by the first day of camp. Here are the steps to becoming a C.I.T. 1. Informational packets are emailed in late April. Packets should be completed and brought with you to your interview. 2. In May, prospective C.I.T.'s are contacted to schedule an interview. Bring all paperwork, along with three goals of what you would like to learn through this program. 3. Once the interviews are complete, C.I.T.'s are notified of their status. Those selected need to attend the mandatory orientation. After the orientation, staff determines placement based on the C.I.T.’s schedule and availability. C.I.T.'s are not placed in older grade camps. A refund is issued if you are not accepted. C.I.T. Orientation (Mandatory) - Thursday, May 22, 6:00pm-8:00pm at MPLC.
