Park Ridge Park District works hard to ensure seniors in our community have an array of options for staying active and engaged. First, there’s our S.T.A.R. membership, where there’s always something going on, no matter what your interest. Throughout the year, an array of S.T.A.R. clubs, activities, trips, and events are offered. You're bound to discover new interests and new friends.

Then there are the exceptional programs and outings we offer adults, giving you a chance to enjoy time with others. In fact, the hardest part about taking advantage of all that’s available is deciding what it is you want to do first. View the programs below.

5230106 / 5th Annual S.T.A.R. Turkey Trot & Luncheon

5th Annual S.T.A.R. Turkey Trot & Luncheon Trot like a turkey around the CAC as you partake in this classic Thanksgiving race. Whether you are a longtime walker or just want to join the fun, this mile walk is perfect for all levels. Gobble up a delicious Thanksgiving lunch of Roasted Natural Turkey, cornbread stuffing, classic mashed potatoes and gravy, garden salad, and green bean casserole. After lunch listen to the music of Charles Pansino who will bring a mixture of Great Early American music - anything from Swing, Rock N Roll, Country, etcetera and an ode to our great country and its musicians. Registration includes a t-shirt if you register by the deadline. Registration Deadline: Nov 1. CAC

S.T.A.R. Holiday Party at the Park Ridge Country Club Doors Open at 11:30am, Lunch begins at Noon. Celebrate the holidays together at the Park Ridge Country Club. Join us for a great meal, raffles, and 50s, 60’s and 70s music from The Jammers! Menu includes choice of Cabernet Braised Boneless Beef Short Ribs, Chicken Piccata, Penne Primavera or Grilled Salmon. This event has reserved seating with 10 seats per table. Please assign a table captain to register your party. Registration deadline: November 20.

5230202 / S.T.A.R. AARP Driver's Class

AARP Driver Safety program is an eight-hour two-day course for motorists age 55 and older. It focuses on the physical changes that accompany aging and on ways older adult drivers can compensate for these changes to improve their driving skills. After taking this course, you will be eligible for a multi-year discount on your car insurance! Fee is $20 for AARP members and $25 for non-AARP members. Make checks payable to AARP. Credit cards will not be accepted. This is a 2-day class and must attend both days. Registration Required. Instructor: Phil Breneman. CAC
